What makes the Coffee in the Cocoa N Coffee product rare and unique?

Coffee trees throughout the world produce red or purple cherries, the fruit, that typically contain two seeds.  When you open the cherry you most frequently find two green coffee beans.  Normal coffee beans grow two to a fruit, flattened against one another.  In about 5% of coffee plant cherries something very special occurs.   Only one of the two seeds is fertilized in the fruit, and the single seed develops without its mate to flatten against or share in the rich resources of the coffee plant.  This oval coffee bean is known as the peaberry.  The peaberry tends to be smaller, denser, and is believed to benefit immensely from the nutrients that it alone receives from the single ride in the fruit.  Many believe that these properties, unique to the peaberry, make it a sweeter and more flavorful bean.

There is no visible indication that the red cherry is carrying one of these round fellows; so they need to be laboriously hand sorted after picking and processing.  Then they are shipped around the world, and are professionally roasted and panned in chocolate for our Cocoa N Coffee.
